One of the most important aspects in the safety of children's products is the choice of materials used to make the products. All of Sigikid products must comply with international toy standards and are certified on a regular basis:
EN71, CE (incl. the REACH regulation)
  ASTM and CPSIA
  Öko-Tex 100
For Sigikid, complying with official safety standards is just one small part of product testing. They begin examining the value of their products as early as the development stage and look for potential dangers that could arise as a child plays with our toys. They believe that toys are more than just a means of entertainment.
This includes a toy's cultural value, which promotes a child's development. The emotional development of a child is just as important as intellectual development and learning motor skills.
They firmly believe that a good toy - and good design in particular - can positively influence a child’s development. It is only logical then that we understand safety as an integral part of a toy’s fun and cuddle factor. They apply the following instruments in the testing of their products:
 Field reports
 Test groups in nursery schools
Learning and fun factor analysis (Spiel Gut, TUV, LGA)

Story:

For more than 45 years, Sigikid is known for its baby toys, super soft plush animals and educational toys. sigikid is a family owned company whose roots go way back – Sigikid’s German parent company “H. Scharrer & Koch GmbH” was founded in 1856 in Bavaria, initially manufacturing glass beads for export. In 1910, Theo Köhler, the great-grandfather of sigikid’s current owner, took over, and slowly introduced toys made out of glass beads to the product line. When the next generation took over in 1968, the trademark Sigikid was born. The name is a combination of the founder’s first name “Sigi” (short for Sigrid) and “kid”.  Sigikid’s products are made to last. All are machine washable in the delicate cycle, with the idea in mind that sigikid toys are companions for generations to come. The company not only want you to enjoy their products but also they place a big focus on sustainable parts. They prefer a BPA-free plastic rattle to a wooden one inside a toy if it means that the life of the toy as a whole will be longer. We oppose disposing things after only a few uses or replacing it by a new toy if something wears out or gets dirty.
